Pauline Joerger
Born in 1992 in Colmar, France. Visual Artist, Graphic Designer, Art Director, Pauline Joerger draws inspiration from poetry, cinema, and nature to create original works. After obtaining a Master's degree in Artistic Direction in Paris (LISAA Paris), her career started in the capital of France, as a graphic designer and junior artistic director at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris-Saclay.
From Strasbourg, Paris to San Francisco, a story of artistic love
A lover of fine arts and creativity in all its forms since childhood, Pauline Joerger has continued to cultivate her artistic sensibility wherever she goes. First in Strasbourg, where she studied applied arts at the LISAA school, then in Paris, where she immersed herself in the vibrant world of visual creation. With a master's degree in digital art direction under her belt, she soon began collaborating with prestigious institutions in the capital, such as the Victor Hugo Museum, the City of Paris, and the Paris Institute of Technology. The young artist then settled in San Francisco for two years, specializing in digital communication, and this incredible showcase of modernity stimulated her entrepreneurial spirit. Since 2022, Back in Alsace, Pauline Joerger now combines her two passions for art and design by collaborating with the private art collection “Collection Kluckert” (owned by Manfred Kluckert, owner of Galerie K) and creating unique works using mixed media, cultural stakeholders and various customers all over Europe, where she can use her wide range of skills.
When it comes to my professional life, I look back on my journey with both emotion and joy. I see it as the evolution of an overarching career path that naturally led me toward artistic creation, a field where I continue to refine my skills, focusing on a practice that is so dear to my heart. I began this journey with a two-year preparatory program in the humanities (Hypokhâgne & Khâgne). Passionate about both Literature and Arts, I chose applied arts before specializing in a BTS program with a focus on print media, which immediately immersed me in the world of typography, graphic design, and the development of editorial guidelines. I continued my studies with a Master’s degree in Digital Art Direction at the "LISAA" school in Paris. After earning my master’s degree in 2017, I truly flourished in the fields of art direction, graphic design, and advertising. Since graduating, I have continuously honed my skills by acquiring new competencies and knowledge, while nurturing an unwavering passion for graphic design, marketing, and art. My first long-term contract at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris was an incredibly enriching and formative experience. As a Junior Art Director, I was in charge of large-scale projects related to the school’s internal and external communications, such as the redesign of the campus’s overall wayfinding system, the redesign of the mobile app, a series of science-related publications, and event design—including the 360° visual identity of "La Fête de la Science", among other projects. Following that assignment, I decided to move to San Francisco in 2018 to pursue a professional opportunity in the technology sector in Silicon Valley. I had always wanted to improve my English and take on new challenges. I worked for two years at IVALUA, a French technology company based in Redwood City, California. Since returning to France, as a Senior graphic designer, I have been working as a freelance art director since 2021; I possess a wide range of skills, particularly in diverse design creation, layout, marketing, and consulting. My key strengths include developing a 360° brand strategy, analyzing and designing international advertising campaigns, designing print materials, editorial design, digital communication, signage, packaging and event design.
Since July 2022, my main client has been the Collection Kluckert (a private art collection located in Staufen im Breisgau, Germany), for which I have played a major role in laying a solid foundation. I also teach graphic design at LISAA, a school of applied arts in Strasbourg. I mentor students from their first year of preparatory studies through their fifth year, at the master’s level. I am very satisfied with my carreer overall, highly motivated, and fulfilled by everything I learn through it.
I am always seeking new opportunities, new clients to create great designs for. I am always looking to establish long-term, stable collaborations. My schedule is flexible, and I’m very responsive and dedicated to my work.
